This site has two quizzes. The Remote Side Gig Type Quiz picks from six side-gig types, and the Tech Skill Match Quiz picks from eight tech directions. Either one is enough to start, but combining both lets you plan around how you like to work and the technical skill you want to grow.

What each result tells you

The side-gig type describes how you like to be useful to people; the tech direction describes which technology draws you. Think of the first as your way of working and the second as candidate skills; that makes them easy to combine.

Common pairings

There is no right pairing, but these combinations turn easily into a single sample.

Merging into one four-week plan

Running two plans at once leaves you short of time. A workable split: use the tech direction’s plan for Weeks 1–2 to learn the basics, then follow the side-gig type’s “A sample” and “A practice opening” steps in Weeks 3–4 to build the combined sample.

  • Week 1: the tech direction’s “Learn the path,” choosing one free intro course
  • Week 2: one of the tech direction’s exercises per day
  • Week 3: build the combined sample in your side-gig type’s format
  • Week 4: publish it and decide which side to go deeper on

Using the compatibility section

Each result page shows a compatible type and a contrasting type. Those relationships are within one quiz, but they also offer clues when combining two. For example, if something about the type that pairs well with The Guide also shows up in your tech direction, that overlap is a good theme for a sample.

Put the two results side by side and look for overlapping words among the three strengths listed on each. If you find something in common—careful checking, or explaining things clearly—that becomes the backbone of how you learn. Write it down in one sentence and keep it at the top of your study notes for the four weeks; when you have to choose between two courses or two sample ideas, pick the one that uses that strength more.

Choosing online learning for a pairing

Even with a pairing, stick to one main resource. Interactive practice or a cloud provider’s official portal suits the technical side; courses with assignments or feedback suit the working-style side. Compare the learning paths on both type pages and start with what they share.

FAQ

Which quiz should I take first?

Either works. With little IT experience, the side-gig quiz may feel easier to answer first.

My two results seem unrelated.

Even distant results can usually meet in a sample. If not, finish one plan first.

Where can I publish a combined sample?

On a static hosting service, as a simple portfolio page. Another guide covers options by type.

Should I save both share cards?

Yes. Seeing them side by side makes pairing easier, and they are useful for comparison when you retake the quizzes later.
